Woven Shifted Ikat Scarf

72” x 10.5” with twisted fringe, 132 grams. The design for this scarf was created before the scarf was woven. When the warp (lengthwise) threads were being wound to create to the warp, many of the threads were wrapped in ikat tape which serves as a resist. The yarn is then hand dyed. Each individual thread is carefully placed on the loom to create the design that was planned before the yarn was wound for the warp.
